Product Description:
Thioglycolic acid has the characteristics of both hydroxyl acid reaction and sulfhydryl reaction, among which the most important reaction is the reaction with disulfide. Especially under basic conditions, it reacts with the cystine in the hair, breaks the -s-s – bond of cystine, and produces cysteine which is easy to curl.
Application:
Mainly used as curling agent, hair removal agent, low toxic or non-toxic stabilizer of polyvinyl chloride, initiator of polymerization, accelerator and chain transfer agent, metal surface treatment agent. In addition, thioglycolic acid is a sensitive reagent for the determination of iron, molybdenum, aluminum, tin, etc. It can also be used as crystallization nucleating agent for polypropylene processing and coating, fiber modifier and blanket quick finishing agent.
