Product Description:
Malonic Acid, also known as malonic acid, is an organic acid with the chemical formula HOOCCH2COOH, which is soluble in water, alcohols, ethers, acetone and pyridine, and exists as a calcium salt in sugar beet roots. Malonic Acid is a colourless flaky crystal, melting point 135.6°C, decomposes at 140°C, density 1.619g/cm3 (16°C).
Application:
(1) Mainly used as pharmaceutical intermediates, also used in spices, adhesives, resin additives, electroplating and polishing agents, etc.
(2) Used as a complexing agent, also used in the preparation of barbiturate salt, etc. .
(3) Malonic Acid is an intermediate of the fungicide rice fungicide, and also an intermediate of the plant growth regulator indocyanate.
(4) Malonic Acid and its esters are mainly used in fragrances, adhesives, resin additives, pharmaceutical intermediates, electroplating and polishing agents, explosion control agents, hot welding flux additives, etc. In the pharmaceutical industry it is used in the production of luminal, barbiturates, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B6, phenyl pausticum, amino acids, etc.
(5) Malonic acid is used as a surface treatment agent for aluminium and has no pollution problems as only water and carbon dioxide are produced when it is heated and decomposed. In this respect, it has a great advantage over acid-based treatment agents such as formic acid, which were used in the past.
(6) Malonic Acid is used as an additive for chemical plating and as a polishing agent for electroplating.
