Solubility | Miscible with most organic solvents and most nitrocellulose lacquers. It has high solubility to cellulose esters, cellulose ethers, oils and fats, natural and synthetic rubbers, resins, especially nitrocellulose, vinyl resins, alkyd resins, melamine resins, polystyrene and so on. |
Product Properties:
1.It is flammable liquid, but evaporates slowly and is difficult to catch fire.
2.Chemical properties: generates dimer under light; generates 3,5-xylenol when heated to 670~700°C; generates 4,6,6-trimethyl-1,2-cyclohexanedione when oxidised in air; isomerisation and dehydration occurs when it is treated with fuming sulphuric acid; does not react with sodium bisulphite in an addition reaction but can be adducted with hydrocyanic acid; generates 3,5,5-trimethylcyclohexanol when hydrogenated.
3.Exists in baking tobacco, white ribbed tobacco, spice tobacco, and mainstream smoke.
Product Application:
1.Isophorone is used as a fixative in microscopic anatomical studies to help maintain the morphological structure of tissues.
2.It is also commonly used as a solvent in organic synthesis, especially in esterification reactions, ketone synthesis and condensation reactions.
3.Due to its strong solubility, Isophorone is also used as a cleaning and descaling agent.
Product Storage Notes:
1.Care should be taken to avoid contact with skin and eyes during use.
2.Protective gloves, goggles and clothing should be worn during use.
3.Keep away from open flames and heat sources.
4.Avoid contact with oxidising agents when storing.
5.Keep sealed.
