Product Description:
Ferrous Chloride is an inorganic substance with the chemical formula FeCl2. green to yellow in colour. Soluble in water, ethanol and methanol. There are tetrahydrate FeCl2-4H2O, transparent blue-green monoclinic crystals. Density 1.93g/cm3, easily deliquescent, soluble in water, ethanol, acetic acid, slightly soluble in acetone, insoluble in ether. In the air will be partially oxidised to grass green, in the air gradually oxidised to ferric chloride. Anhydrous ferrous chloride is yellow-green hygroscopic crystal, dissolved in water to form a light green solution. It is tetrahydrate salt, and becomes dihydrate salt when heated to 36.5°C.
Application:
Ferrous Chloride is commonly used as battery electrolyte, catalyst, mordant, colour developer, weight gainer, corrosion inhibitor, metal surface treatment agent.
