Product Description:
White crystals. Hygroscopic. Freely soluble in hot water and alkaline solutions, slightly soluble in cold water, insoluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether. Melting point 230°C (decomposition). Very slightly toxic (some claim non-toxic), LD50 (rat, oral) 665mg/kg.
Application:
(1) Complexing agent, complex titration of molybdenum, sulphate and rare earth metals, current endpoint method for the determination of copper.
(2) As a highly efficient chelating agent, DTPA can be used as a color inhibitor in acrylic fiber production, paper industry, water softener, textile auxiliary, chelating titrant, color photography and food industry, etc. It also has a wide range of applications in medical treatment, separation of rare earth elements and agricultural production.
