Product Description:
Dichloroethane is an organic compound with the chemical formula C2H4Cl2 and molecular weight of 98.97. It is one of the halogenated hydrocarbons and is often expressed as EDC. Dichloroethane has two isomers, if not specified generally refers to 1,2-dichloroethane. Dichloroethane is a colourless or light yellow transparent liquid, insoluble in water, it is a colourless liquid with a chloroform-like odour at room temperature, it is toxic and potentially carcinogenic, it is mainly used as an intermediate in the production of vinyl chloride (polyvinyl chloride monomer), and is often used as a solvent for synthesis, and is also used as a solvent for waxes, fats, rubbers, etc., and as a pesticide for cereals. Possible solvent substitutes include 1,3-dioxane and toluene.
Product Application:
1.Mainly used as vinyl chloride; ethylene glycol; glycolic acid; ethylenediamine; tetraethyl lead; polyethylene polyamine and benzoyl raw materials. Also used as grease; resin; rubber solvent, dry cleaning agent, pesticide pyrethrin; caffeine; vitamins; hormone extractant, wetting agent, soaking agent, petroleum dewaxing, anti-vibration agent, also used in pesticide manufacturing and the drug mirex; piperazine raw materials. In agriculture, it can be used as grain; fumigant of grain; soil disinfectant.
2.Used in boron analysis, oil and tobacco extractant. Also used in the manufacture of acetyl cellulose.
3.Used as an analytical reagent, e.g. as a solvent, chromatographic analysis standard. It is also used as extraction system of oil and grease, and used in organic synthesis.
4.Used as detergent, extractant, pesticide and metal degreasing agent.
5.Used as a solvent for wax, fat, rubber, etc. and as a grain insecticide.
