Product Description:

Africans have used the tubers of Uncaria chinensis to treat indigestion, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, to relieve postpartum pain in women, and for sprains, ulcers and burns for hundreds of years. In the mid-19th century, the German soldier Mehnert introduced the herbal tea to Europe. Until now, the first scientist to study the physical activity of Uncaria chinensis was Zorn at the University of Jena, Germany, more than 40 years ago, and all subsequent studies were carried out on his basis. Europeans, especially Germans, have been researching it until 1989 when the German CommissionE officially recognized its efficacy and approved it as a legal drug for the treatment of osteoarthritis, tendinitis and other rheumatism and indigestion.

(1) Hookwort is only effective for chronic and recurrent inflammation, but not for acute inflammation, which is consistent with its later recommended clinical treatment of chronic rheumatic inflammation.

(2) Both the extract and the isolated components have potential anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, and oral administration of its water extract is more effective than oral administration of its alcoholic extract or isolated components. (3) The extracts of Uncaria chinensis and Gymnoside have obvious and dose-related antagonism on the arrhythmia induced by reperfusion of isolated rat hearts in vitro.
