Product Properties:
1.White or slightly yellow transparent liquid with aromatic flavour. Soluble in water; ethanol; ether and chloroform, etc., unstable, decomposed when interacting with alkali or distilled at atmospheric pressure. It is unstable, decomposes when interacting with alkali or distilled at atmospheric pressure.
2.The product is low toxicity, swallowing the product is strictly prohibited, the operator should wear protective gear.
3.Chemical properties: Diacetone alcohol contains carbonyl and hydroxyl in the molecule, with the chemical properties of ketone and tertiary alcohol. Decomposition occurs when it is heated to 130°C or above with alkali, producing 2 molecules of acetone. When heated with sulphuric acid or trace amounts of iodine, it dehydrates to form isopropylidene acetone. Interaction with sodium hypobromite produces 2-hydroxyisovaleric acid. Catalytic hydrogenation generates 2-methyl-2,4-pentanediol.
4.This product irritates the eyes, skin and mucous membranes of the respiratory tract. It enters the body through the respiratory and digestive tracts, affecting the nervous system and damaging the liver and stomach. Inhalation of high concentration of vapour can form pulmonary oedema and even coma. Long-term exposure can lead to dermatitis.
5.Found in baking tobacco, white ribbed tobacco, spice tobacco, and cigarette smoke.
Product Application:
1.Diacetone alcohol can be used as a metal cleaner, wood preservative, preservative for photographic film and drugs, antifreeze, solvent for hydraulic fluids, extractant and fibre finishing agent.
2.Diacetone alcohol is widely used as a solvent for electrostatic spray paints, celluloid, nitrocellulose, fats, oils, waxes and resins. Diacetone alcohol is a high boiling point organic solvent. The viscosity is low and the effect of temperature on viscosity is small. Used as solvent and paint stripper for cellulose ester paint, printing ink, synthetic resin paint etc.
3.Widely used as a solvent for resins, electrostatic spray paints, celluloid, nitro fibres, fats, oils and waxes. It is also used as metal cleaner, wood preservative, preservative for photographic film and medicine, antifreeze, hydraulic oil solvent, extractant and fibre finishing agent. It is also a kind of organic synthesis intermediates.
4.Cosmetic solvent, mainly used as nail polish and other cosmetics of the high boiling point solvent. Usually formulated with low-boiling point solvents and medium-boiling point solvents into mixed solvents, in order to obtain the appropriate evaporation rate and viscosity.
Product Storage Notes:
1.Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse.
2.Keep away from fire and heat source, avoid direct sunlight.
3.Keep the container sealed.
4.It is non-corrosive to metal, and can be stored in iron, soft steel or aluminium containers, but it has erosive effect on many kinds of plastics.
5.Store and transport in isolation from oxidising agents and acids.
6.Iron bucket or glass bottle is packed with wooden box lining material.
